"Higher Power"

The term "higher power" is overly vague and can also encompass a wide range of non-supernatural, non-agent phenomena. "Power" refers to the ability to alter something, while "higher" is a relational term, denoting a relationship in which X is above or superior in some way to Y. When considering Y as humans, there are numerous entities that possess a greater capacity for change than humans. For instance, the sun is one such example, as its gravitational pull and energy has a much greater impact on the Earth than even the most impactful human action.
